Labour ComplianceThe Ministry of Labour & Employment (MoLE) on November 1, 2025, launched the Employees’ Enrolment Scheme – 2025 during the 73rd Foundation Day celebration of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) in New Delhi. The scheme aims to expand social security coverage and promote voluntary compliance among employers.

The scheme offers a six-month window (1st November 2025 – 30th April 2026) for employers to enrol eligible employees who were omitted from EPF coverage between 1st July 2017 and 31st October 2025. Under the provisions, the employee’s contribution is waived for the declared period if not deducted earlier, while the employer is required to remit only their share along with applicable interest, administrative charges, and a nominal ₹100 penal damage per establishment. Even establishments under inquiry under Section 7A, Para 26B, or Para 8 of EPS-1995 remain eligible under the scheme.

This initiative represents a significant step towards ensuring “Social Security for All”, enhancing transparency, and promoting universal EPF inclusion. By providing employers with a simplified route to regularise past compliance, the scheme seeks to accelerate workforce formalisation and strengthen India’s organised social protection network.
